| Jennifer Chandler from Bury, age 50 |
| Over a cup of tea in a health foods café, Jennifer
found herself reading my information poster. It listed a number
of common disorders that she was suffering from at the time,
in particular migraine and irritable bowel syndrome. Her migraines
were so bad that they often caused physical sickness, and she
had had colon problems for as long as she could remember. Jennifer
had been prescribed tablets for her migraines by her doctor,
but didn't like taking them because they made her drowsy. She
decided to explore the 'natural route' to health and the holistic
approach that I was offering appealed to her. |
|
| Her case history revealed a family history of migraines. Having
followed her recommended dietary prescription, within 2 months
both her migraines and irritable bowel had improved. Three months
later, her symptoms had improved considerably and she informed
me that she hardly ever had a migraine! I met Jennifer in person
only once. We kept in touch via phone and letter and made further
dietary adjustments as necessary. Five months on from our first
appointment, Jennifer had been 'almost migraine free' for the
previous 4 months. |

| Gillian Beresford from Swinton, Manchester,
age 53 |
| Gillian came to me via her local complementary clinic and
had suffered very badly from hand eczema for the past 9 years.
She had tried all types of treatment to no avail. These had
included both natural remedies and topical steroids prescribed
by her doctor. The skin on her hands was inflamed and flaking
away. She also had some abdominal discomfort and constipation. |
|
| I decided that we would treat the colon first - as skin disorders
such as eczema can often be an indication of poor colon function.
The body then looks for another route of elimination, in this
instance, via the skin. By paying attention to diet, fluids
and appropriate supplementation, Gillian's eczema was much improved
just one month after our first appointment. |

| Sheila Saunders from Prestwich, Manchester,
age 55 |
| Referred to me by her chiropodist, Sheila wanted to 'get back
to where she was' and to lose weight. Her symptoms included
headaches, depression and a lot of pain in her hands and wrists.
She was also taking medication to help regulate a heart condition. |
|
| The first course of action was to modify her very rich, highly
refined diet. Within one month she reported that not only had
all her symptoms improved, but she had lost 4lbs in weight without
even trying! Needless to say, she was delighted. |
